Latest figures released by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) show a growth in both applications and acceptances at York St John. The increase of 445 students represents a 28% growth on the number of acceptances made in the previous academic year, placing the University top amongst all English universities for a rise in places offered to students.

The introduction of new, demand-led courses has contributed to this year’s successful student recruitment and the rise indicates that the University is doing well in a competitive market. Parallel to the growth in student numbers, continuation rates are amongst the highest in the sector, with 91.9% of new entrants continuing beyond first year.

Professor Karen Stanton, Vice Chancellor of York St John University said: “The data from the UCAS report confirms that York St John is prospering in a volatile Higher Education sector and we’re delighted to see that these figures reflect our ambitious growth strategy. We have invested significantly in student facilities and continue to provide excellent teaching and learning for all our students. We have every reason to believe this growth will continue into next year and beyond”.

The total number of students at York St John is currently 6,069. Graduate outcomes at the University remain strong with 94% in either work or further study within 6 months of graduation.
